Great Mosque of Samarra, Iraq
This unique spiraling structure is located in Samarra, Iraq. Its architectural precision is truly amazing as it was build during the 9th century. It was once, the largest mosque in the world. Abbasid caliph Al-Mutawakkil is the one who commissioned its development in 848 and it was completed in 851.
